Whether you just delivered a baby or your child needs specialty care, Healthy Kids Pediatric Group is here to help — even when you are receiving care elsewhere. We work closely with local specialists and hospitals to make sure your child gets the best possible care, including the smooth transition of medical records and treatment plans after their hospital stay is over.
Congratulations on the birth of your new baby! At the hospital, you can expect your newborn to receive care from a pediatrician or a pediatric hospitalist (a primary care physician who works exclusively in a hospital environment).
However, you can see any pediatrician you want after you leave the hospital. Seeing a pediatrician employed by a hospital post-delivery doesn’t guarantee better care — instead, you are free to pick a pediatrician based on the services they offer, their quality of care, their proximity to your home, and other factors that matter most to you.
You will need to schedule your first pediatric visit within 48 hours after you get home from the hospital. As a Healthy Kids Pediatric Group patient, we work hard to make sure you get access to the specialty care your child needs and deserves — whether that means working with your insurance plan to get approval or finding the best pediatric specialists in the community.
Even while your child is receiving care elsewhere, Healthy Kids Pediatric Group still works hard for you, collaborating with the hospital’s specialty care team to ensure that we get copies of all your child’s medical records. We also help transition your child’s care back to the primary care environment as soon as their treatment is complete.
