Navigating Sick Visits

When you have a sick child, we know there is nothing you want more than to help your little one feel better. We are here to help. The experienced and caring providers at Healthy Kids Pediatric Group in East Windsor, Lawrenceville, and Robbinsville, NJ, offer same-day sick visits so you and your child don’t have to wait to be seen by a doctor.

Reasons for a Sick Visit

When kids are sick, it can sometimes be difficult to know whether they just need some rest and TLC or if they should see the pediatrician. Call us whenever your child is feeling ill or has certain symptoms and we can help determine if an in-person sick visit at our East Windsor, Lawrenceville, or Robbinsville, NJ, office is needed. Some reasons for a sick visit include:

  • High fever
  • Sore throat
  • Ear infection
  • Difficulty swallowing
  • Severe or persistent allergy symptoms
  • Cold, flu, or covid type symptoms
  • Painful or severe rash
  • Abdominal pain
  • Diarrhea
  • Vomiting

Our skilled pediatric team will assess your child’s symptoms and run any lab tests that might be needed to properly diagnose your little one’s illness. Additionally, our providers will prescribe the appropriate medications, if needed.

Scheduling a Sick Visit

We always schedule sick visit appointments for the same day you call so your little one can see a doctor right away when needed. If your child’s appointment is later in the day toward the end of our regular business hours, rest assured that a doctor will remain after hours until all patients have been seen. We know it can be worrisome having a sick child so we encourage you to ask any questions that come to mind before or during your appointment.

When your child is sick, a pediatrician can help you manage your child’s symptoms while you navigate their illness. To schedule sick visits in East Windsor, Lawrenceville, or Robbinsville, NJ, call Healthy Kids Pediatric Group at (609) 448-7300.
